dbWindow 3.0 removes all the stumbling blocks to using a database with MicroStation
The Reporting Tool gives you the ability to generate complex reports from your design files without ever leaving MicroStation! You may choose to output the report to a user formatted text file or output to the current design file with the element parameters you set. You may perform math functions on columns, count rows, total columns, etc.
Now you can easily generate a Bill of Materials(BOM) report and/or Total Costs by multiplying the count by the price for each item.

Stop spending your time with Excel or your database package and MicroStation just trying to get some sensible data together in a presentable format for management. Use dbWindow to do it all!
First select the table and columns to be used in the report. You may interject any number of User Defined report columns - the definitions for these columns are established on the next tab.
Now set various information for each report column such as column heading, justification, and width. For User Defined columns you can specify a formula that will derive the column value (combine constants, keywords, column names, and even SQL statements using mathematical operators). User Defined columns can be displayed or not and even have its values totaled.
Next set the report title and decide whether the report will be output to the current design file or a text file. A grid can be used in the format of the report to help separate rows and columns for better readability.
If the report output is to the current design file then the Options button will provide a dialog where the text element parameters can be set for the report title, column headings, and column values.
Now simply choose the design files you wish to process for this report.
These report settings can be saved as a report template. This is great for building several templates for different kinds of reporting needs and recall them at will with ease.
Press the OK button to generate the report.
