dbWindow 3.0 removes all the stumbling blocks to using a database with MicroStation
As you can see, there are many options on the Edit pull-down menu. You need to download dbWindow 3.0 to try all the powerful features.
The Replace Text dialog gives you powerful database editing capabilities. You can instantly replace any text in the grid with a new string. You can replace sub-strings and even use regular expressions.
This dialog works with the data in the grid on the main dialog. The first field allows you to define the search string while the second field is used for the replacement string.
The Search Options give you some flexibility with the Search String.
The Ignore case option does a case insensitive search of the grid text.
The Regular expression option allows you to use regular expressions in the search string. This is very powerful if you already know regular expression syntax. Our documentation gives several examples of regular expressions. This is also included in the online documentation. You will receive this when you download dbWindow 3.0 .
The Select string option simply highlights the fields in the grid that match the search criteria.
The Search direction option works in conjunction with the Beginning search location option.
Forward searches from the beginning row and column to the end of the grid contents.
Backward searches from the beginning row and column to the beginning of the grid contents.
The Beginning search location options allows you to define where to begin searching the grid text.
